This current tour has been inspired by the 'Somewhere Back In Time' era. The gig posters are as impressive as the shows themselves and really do build anticipation.
Hi-On Maiden are masters of mixing up their sets and are not afraid of throwing in a few surprises. Such as opening with 'The Wicker Man' and playing 'Brave New World' very early in the gig, both songs are from early on in singer Bruce Dickinson's second stint with the band.
'Going Somewhere In Time', 'Stranger In A Stranger Land', 'Deja-Vu' and of course 'Wasted Years' were the stand-out songs played from the aforementioned album.
Other stand-out tracks tonight included '2 Minutes To Midnight', 'The Number Of The Beast', 'Run To The Hills', the splendid 'Fear Of The Dark' and set closer, the sublime (and this writer's favourite Maiden track) 'Hallowed By Thy Name'.
Hi-on Maiden are the longest running and only officially endorsed tribute band by Iron Maiden themselves. It is easy to see why with their meticulous attention to detail and faithful replication of the sound. You could shut your eyes and would think you ate actually listening to Iron Maiden!
An incredible show tonight. It was even more remarkable when on introducing the band, the singer highlighted the drummer who was actually a stand-in who they had never met nevermind having played with before. Respect!
